Always known as a friendly, outgoing, and helpful spirit who loved to laugh, “Smitty” made friends everywhere he went. In recent years he developed close relationships with “the Big Mike’s coffee bunch”, a group of men who met daily at Big Mike’s Cafe to drink coffee, swap tales, and “solve the world’s problems”. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to either St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN or the University of Tennessee Medical Center Hospice Services in Knoxvile, TN. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
